ATLANTA – Troutman Pepper Locke earned a dismissal of all claims with prejudice in the Georgia State Court of DeKalb County on behalf of SIG SAUER, an industry-leading manufacturer of firearms, electro-optics, ammunition, and advanced concepts, in a matter involving an alleged firearm defect arising from a police training incident. The plaintiff alleged a defect in the SIG SAUER P320 firearm. However, the officer whose firearm discharged admitted in the deposition that he inadvertently pulled the trigger, causing the plaintiff’s injuries.
No expert reports were submitted to support the plaintiff’s claim, and the plaintiff did not oppose SIG SAUER’s motion to dismiss. The court granted the motion, dismissing all claims with prejudice and finding that the P320 “performed exactly as was expected.”
