Troutman Pepper Locke recently partnered with the Duke University School of Law Wrongful Convictions Clinic to obtain a significant pro bono achievement for its client Benjamin Cole. Cole had been convicted of a 1998 murder in Greensboro, North Carolina. However, Cole had always maintained his innocence, and evidence demonstrated that he was in Dayton, OH, at the time of the murder. Although no physical evidence tied Cole to the crime, he was tried capitally and eventually sentenced to life in prison in 1999.

Troutman Pepper Locke’s legal team consisted of Matthew Orso, Heryka Knoespel, and Eddie Nogay.
