From breaking news and current events to compliance and enforcement insights, our authors provide in-depth analysis of issues within the college athletics domain, with a particular focus on the regulation of name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights for student-athletes.

As of July 1, 2021, the NCAA authorized college athletes to engage in endorsement arrangements utilizing their name, image, and likeness (NIL). In response, many states subsequently enacted or amended state legislation to further govern or restrict these types of arrangements and state athletic associations issued policies of their own, and more recently, many federal senators and congressman have proposed federal bills governing NIL rights and responsibilities.
