Troutman Pepper Locke is proud to sponsor and participate in the American Association of Blacks in Energy’s (AABE) 48th Annual Conference, taking place in Atlanta on April 29 – May 1, 2025. This premier event draws over 1200 energy professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders together to address key issues shaping the future of energy.

As part of our commitment to advancing energy policy and fostering diverse perspectives in the industry, Josh Combs, an associate in our state energy regulatory practice, will be a featured speaker on the panel “Renewable & Nuclear Energy Policy, Investment & Market Dynamics” on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:15 p.m.

This panel will focus on the fact that nuclear energy is gaining renewed attention as a reliable and low-carbon energy source capable of supporting the world’s decarbonization goals. They will also explore the evolving role of nuclear energy in a sustainable energy mix, focusing on innovations in nuclear technology, the safety concerns surrounding nuclear power, and the economic viability of nuclear plants in the modern energy landscape. Josh and the other panelists will also discuss advanced nuclear reactors, small modular reactors (SMRs), and how nuclear fits alongside renewables in achieving global energy targets.

In addition to Josh’s participation, Troutman Pepper Locke is sending a delegation of attorneys, including Brandon Marzo, chair of our energy regulatory practice, and Fred Wilson, Partner in our federal energy regulatory practice to engage in discussions and network with industry leaders.

Our sponsorship and participation in AABE’s annual conference reflect our deep commitment to supporting energy innovation, sustainability, and diversity in the energy sector. We recognize the importance of inclusive conversations that drive equitable energy solutions, and we are honored to be part of this important dialogue.
