Brad Weber, a partner in Troutman Pepper Locke’s Business Litigation Practice Group, was quoted in the January 28, 2025 The National Law Journal article, “Bill Would Consolidate Antitrust Enforcement Under DOJ.”

Troutman Pepper Locke partner Brad Weber said that in counseling clients, sometimes it is not clear which agency will lead an antitrust review.

“I do think having more predictability so that it’s one agency—so you know going in who you’re dealing with—would eliminate some of the guesswork, especially in an industry where it’s not clear which agency would likely have that type of transaction,” Weber said.

Weber called it unclear whether absorbing the FTC’s antitrust enforcement within the DOJ would lead to stronger enforcement.
