FDLI: Enforcement, Litigation, and Compliance Conference: For the Drug, Device, Food, and Tobacco Industries

Washington Marriott at Metro Center
775 12th St NW
Washington, DC 20005

Tuesday, December 10 • 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. ET

Agustin Rodriguez will speak during the “Enforcing Against Illicit E-Cigarettes” panel at the 2024 FDLI Enforcement, Litigation, and Compliance Conference: For the Drug, Device, Food, and Tobacco Industries, scheduled for December 10-11 in Washington, D.C. The panel will discuss the current state of the illicit e-cigarette market, consider the ways in which the multi-agency federal task force, its constituent parts, and the states have addressed (and should address going forward) illicit e-cigarette distribution, and evaluate the extent to which additional statutory or regulatory authority is needed to augment enforcement efforts.

The panel will also consider in what ways, if any, the U.S. tobacco industry can contribute to the overall effort to combat youth vaping. This discussion follows the Senate Judiciary Committee’s June hearing on Combating the Youth Vaping Epidemic by Enhancing Enforcement Against Illegal E-Cigarettes, and the announcement by the FDA and the Department of Justice of a federal multi-agency task force aimed at curbing the distribution and sale of illegal e-cigarette products responsible for nicotine addiction among youth.

This conference will teach attendees how to remain compliance and inspection-ready, plan for and manage enforcement risk, stay on top of trends in criminal and civil litigation, and understand government priorities for the new year.
