The Troutman Annual Security Awareness Training will cover ethical requirements, firm policies, and best practices for cybersecurity and privacy for lawyers and business professionals in the legal field to protect our clients and our firm.

The presentation will directly address ethical rules and requirements for the appropriate and competent handling of client confidential information, including selected provisions of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, given the unique challenges presented by the cyber-threat landscape. The presentation will cover the increased level of vigilance required by a virtual practice, compliance with firm policies, and ethical considerations when using generative AI tools.

The presentation will provide recommendations on social engineering prevention, safe web browsing, and identity management in the face of common cybersecurity threats. It will also include information about client expectations, privacy laws and regulations, and procedures for detecting and reporting suspicious activity.
