Troutman Pepper Locke Launches Cutting-Edge Privacy, Security & AI Enforcement Report and Interactive Dashboard
A Quarterly Analysis of State AG Enforcement Activity in Privacy, Security, and AI, Paired With a Real-Time Research Dashboard for Clients
Troutman Pepper Locke has launched its Regulatory Intelligence Platform featuring its second Privacy, Security & AI Enforcement Report. The quarterly report covers state attorney general (AG) enforcement activity in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI from May 1 through Sept. 30, 2026, with cumulative 2026 year-to-date context. Developed by the firm’s Privacy and Cyber and Regulatory Investigations, Strategy, and Enforcement (RISE) practice groups, the report turns emerging enforcement trends into practical compliance and risk-management insights.
Combining their experience and tapping into the firm’s award-winning innovation team, they conducted advanced data analysis using AI to create a cutting-edge tool that provides actionable data and insights that have not existed – until now.
“As state AGs and privacy regulators increasingly drive the agenda on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI, this timely resource will help clients keep pace with how quickly the enforcement landscape is evolving,” said Dave Navetta, a partner in the firm’s Privacy and Cyber Practice Group. “With the visibility we’ve gained through our analysis, we are able to detail risk-based advice both on the front end when advising clients, but also in the face of AG regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.”
In the coming weeks, Troutman Pepper Locke will launch a companion AG Interactive Dashboard offering subscribers timely tracking of state AG and privacy-regulator developments across the privacy, cybersecurity, and AI sectors. The dashboard pulls together hundreds of state AG actions, including press releases, settlement agreements, consent orders, guidance documents, and other underlying materials. It also preserves access to those materials even if they are later removed from state government websites. Separately, the firm is developing a broader state AG AI tool that will track enforcement activity across a wider range of industries. That tool will be distinct from the privacy-focused dashboard and is expected to launch in the coming months.
“Few firms in the country can match the depth and breadth of our State AG practice, and the dashboard reflects decades of firsthand experience resolving matters with AGs across every state. We know what these offices prioritize, and that experience and insight will be baked into every part of this tool,” added Stephen Piepgrass, leader of the firm’s RISE Practice Group. “This gives Troutman Pepper Locke an edge in the market – we possess data and AI-driven insights that no other firm or service has.”
Troutman Pepper Locke’s Innovation team worked with the firm’s Privacy and Cyber and RISE practice groups to create the dashboard using AI alongside an attorney-driven judgment layer that determines how developments are categorized, sorted, and surfaced for subscribers. It will offer subscribers a working tool providing:
- Full matter details: View full party names, case numbers, and links to press releases, complaints, and orders for all 150 activities this period and 487 tracked overall.
- Interactive interface: Click any tile, chart, tag, state, or industry to see the matters behind it, with sortable, filterable results.
- Advanced search: Combine and filter by date range, activity type, category, tag, state, industry, multistate status, and settlement outcome.
- Settlement deep dives: Insights on per-state shares, coalition economics, benchmarks concerning settlement amounts, monetary settlement structures and injunctive relief, detailed settlement language comparisons, and how regulators use settlement funds.
- Multistate intelligence, matter by matter: Overview of every coalition action and settlement, with the participating states behind each and links to the source documents.
