RICHMOND – Multifamily Housing Finance partner Nora Garcia Nickel was selected to Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Influential Women of Law Class of 2025. The award program honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and their clients, their commitment to their communities, and their service to the profession.

Nickel has spent the past 18 years counseling lenders in connection with the origination and servicing of agency loans, primarily backed by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and is dedicated to their overarching mission of providing safe and affordable rental housing for all Americans. She is a member of Troutman Pepper Locke’s national team of attorneys and real estate professionals recognized for its extensive experience and diverse array of knowledge in the agency and non-agency space.

Troutman Pepper Locke’s Multifamily Housing Finance Practice Group is the premier nationwide practice representing lenders and loan servicers in the U.S. The practice counsels mortgage banking clients in the origination, sale, and servicing of loan transactions sold to secondary market investors — primarily Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as other financial institutions and securitization program participants. The team closes about 3,000 transactions annually with an aggregate value of nearly $70 billion.

The Influential Women of Law Class of 2025 will be celebrated during a recognition awards event on February 20 and profiled in a special supplement to Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
