David Gair and Isreal Miller will present at the TXCPA East Texas: Hot Topics: Navigating the Corporate Transparency Act & Estate Tax Audits Webcast on November 21, 2024 from 10:00am – 12:00pm CST.
In David’s session, “Hot Topics: Estate Tax Audits and Litigation,” he will discuss the practical aspects of handling an estate tax audit and how to best represent clients’ interests. The presentation will also cover some of the hot areas being audited and litigated by the Internal Revenue Service, including spousal lifetime access trusts and family limited partnerships. David will also cover concepts on how to avoid areas of mistakes by tax and estate planning professionals.
Isreal will present on “Corporate Transparency Act Compliance” and will provide an overview of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), FinCEN, and Beneficial Owner Information Reports (BOIRs). He will cover what financial and criminal action may be taken against those who do not file in time, and how a CPA can assist clients in filing BOIRs quickly. Isreal will also provide an overview of the submission process and some helpful tips for filing properly, as well as a description of alternative ways to file.
