Carlin McCrory will be speaking during the “Understanding the CFPB’s Larger Participant Rule” session at UMACHA’s upcoming Managing Third-Party & Fintech Relationships Virtual Symposium on March 19. Carlin, along with Marsha Jones from the Third Party Payment Processors Association, will discuss the recent final rule issued by the CFPB to define larger participants in the general-use digital consumer payment applications market. Larger participants in this market will be subject to the CFPB’s supervisory authority under the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA).

In this session, Carlin and Marsha will explain the purpose, scope, and requirements of the new rule, as well as the laws that may be part of an examination. They will also discuss the litigation that has been filed challenging the rule.
