Abbey is an associate in the firm's Regulatory Investigations, Strategy + Enforcement (RISE) Practice Group. She focuses her practice on the representation of clients at the intersection of enforcement actions, investigations, and civil litigation. She also handles a variety of general business litigation and appellate matters. Abbey is a member of the state attorneys general (AG) litigation team, defending companies in a variety of matters across different industries, often involving claims under state Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Practices (UDAP) statutes. She is also a member of the group's local government and public records teams. Additionally, Abbey provides ongoing analysis and commentary on regulatory developments through contributions to the firm's regulatory blog, Regulatory Oversight.
Abbey attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served on the editorial board for the Virginia Law Review and received the Stephen Pierre Traynor Award for best oral advocate in the finals of the William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition. Upon graduation, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard D. Bennett in the U.S. District Court of Maryland.
