For nearly 30 years, Andrea has represented buyers, sellers, and lenders in the purchase and sale of real property and corporate assets across the U.S., with a particular focus on environmental transactional and regulatory matters involving brownfields redevelopment; hazardous site investigation and cleanup; underground storage tanks (USTs); hazardous waste management and remediation; and state and federal Superfund, brownfield, and voluntary remediation programs. Specifically, Andrea has:

  • Assisted clients through entry and completion of numerous state and federal brownfields and voluntary remediation programs.
  • Conducted due diligence, and negotiated contractual provisions in a variety of real estate, corporate, and lending transactions.
  • Represented and advised clients in connection with state and federal RCRA hazardous waste management, permitting, enforcement, and corrective action.
  • Assisted clients in all aspects of investigation and remediation of numerous sites pursuant to the federal CERCLA statute and state equivalents, and in the successful completion of cleanup activities under such programs.
  • Counseled clients in regulatory and litigation matters involving CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA, and state hazardous substance, waste, and petroleum cleanup programs across the U.S.
  • Advised clients with respect to SEC environmental disclosure obligations, environmental permitting, asbestos, mold, pesticides, and product regulation.
  • Represented lenders in foreclosure on former industrial and commercial properties and resolution of future site liabilities through brownfields and UST programs.
  • Counseled a national Fortune 20 retailer regarding retail and pharmaceutical hazardous waste compliance, reverse distribution, product management, underground and aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), hazardous site management, and resolution of claims with governmental authorities.
  • Advised an international airline in connection with RCRA corrective action permitting, hazardous waste and petroleum management and compliance, UST and AST regulation, and state and federal Superfund programs.
  • Served as lead environmental counsel in the acquisition and redevelopment of numerous properties throughout Georgia under the Georgia Brownfields Program and Georgia Voluntary Remediation Program, and in the resolution of Georgia Hazardous Site Response Act liabilities.
  • Counseled a multistate publicly traded company in evaluating and developing environmental disclosures in compliance with applicable SEC regulations.
  • Represented clients in transactional, regulatory compliance, and enforcement matters involving petroleum and hazardous substance releases in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and other states.
