Andrew focuses his practice primarily on patent prosecution and patent counseling. Additionally, he has broad experience in the intellectual property field, including patent litigation, intellectual property due diligence in support of corporate transactions, and the drafting and negotiation of technology, licensing, and other business agreements.

His experience encompasses technologies such as electronics, software, telecommunications, smartphone technology, medical devices, mechanical devices, sensors, data analytics, and business methods. Whether representing a small startup company or a large multinational corporation, Andrew has a particular focus on utilizing intellectual property to meet a client’s business objectives.

  • Successfully prosecuted and obtained patents for software-related inventions initially rejected as nonpatentable subject matter under the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank International.
  • Counseled companies on strategy for patent protection and design around competitors’ patent assets for potential new product launches.
  • Performed IP evaluations and due diligence for intellectual property assets for corporate transactions.
