Beichen Chen

Beichen provides clients with patent prosecution services, including drafting U.S. and PCT patent applications and preparing responses to office actions. She handles matters in the areas of molecular and cellular biology, biotechnology, microbiology, and immunology —particularly regarding therapeutic molecules, drug delivery technology, diagnostic technology, gene therapy, cancer therapy, synthetic biology, applied microbiology, medical devices, and surgical devices.

Beichen provides patent counseling services, including freedom-to-operate opinions, non-infringement opinions, invalidity opinions, and clearance search opinions. She is responsible for managing international patent prosecutions and portfolios in various countries and regions, such as Canada, Europe, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Russia, and China.

Beichen’s background also includes experience in patent and trademark litigation, patent counseling, and Section 337 investigations.

Beichen gained a comprehensive background in molecular genetics and biophysics through her research roles at the University of Iowa, Chinese Academy of Science, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Her scientific background allows her to understand complex technical details, particularly when it comes to securing and defending intellectual property rights.
