Bryan Sonksen

Bryan is an associate in the firm’s Business Litigation practice, focusing on breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, misappropriation, tortious interference, breach of contract, and unfair competition matters. Bryan has also assisted in various appellate matters in connection with those disputes.

Bryan graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles where he completed his J.D. and served as a managing editor for the UCLA Law Review. Bryan also earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.

• Served on trial team in shareholder derivative action on behalf of the minority shareholders of a prominent family-owned corporation, prevailing against controlling officers and directors for breaches of fiduciary duty and securing attorneys’ fees award of nearly $3 million.
• Obtained complete defense victory in a multimillion-dollar litigation involving the international sale of N95 respirators in the Los Angeles Superior Court after trial (Second Chair).  Prevailed on appeal.
• Served on arbitration team on behalf of background screening provider in indemnification dispute against its former vendor in connection with numerous underlying lawsuits brought by consumers, resulting in favorable settlement.
• Obtained dismissal with prejudice of lawsuit against a national trade show services company asserting claims for fraud and breach of contract.
• Successfully briefed and argued appeal from ruling on anti-SLAPP motion brought by former officers against registered investment advisor firm.
• Successfully opposed motion for preliminary injunction and prevailed on motion to compel arbitration on behalf of cosmetics company resulting in favorable resolution.
• Successfully represented client in obtaining payment from a local government entity of millions of dollars of unpaid tax increment financing.
