Emily works closely with colleagues across the firm’s litigation teams to handle complex disputes involving a variety of claims, including employment law, breach of contract and warranty, consumer protection law, and cybersecurity. She represents clients in an array of sectors, such as higher education and consumer financial services. Emily’s experience spans cases involving student and faculty terminations, employment noncompete/solicitation, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and others.
Emily is involved throughout the lifecycle of a case, managing all aspects of discovery and pre-trial strategy, including extensive hands-on work during discovery, such as helping to prepare witnesses for depositions, working with expert witnesses, and preparing pre-trial dispositive and discovery motions. A common thread throughout Emily’s work is her understanding of the procedural aspects of the case, which helps clients optimize their positioning and impact the overall trajectory of the case. She is particularly experienced with procedural law in the state and federal courts of New Jersey.
Emily’s robust pro bono practice is focused on immigration. She represents clients before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and immigration courts. Emily has experience representing clients in removal proceedings, particularly in defensive asylum proceedings and matters involving Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Additionally, she co-authored an amicus brief for an immigration case before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and serves as the Princeton office’s pro bono ambassador.
