Duma represents both public and private companies on a wide variety of diverse and complex matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, financings and capital raises, securities issuances and securities law compliance, joint ventures, and sponsorships. She also regularly advises clients with respect to the Corporate Transparency Act.
Duma is experienced across a broad range of industry sectors, including banking and financial services, advisory and business services, technology, life sciences, commercial real estate development, retail trade, and sports, arts, and entertainment. No matter the industry, Duma’s deep understanding of complex, diverse matters help clients achieve their objectives.
As a student practitioner certified by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Duma helped North Carolina-based small businesses, entrepreneurs, and educators protect their trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights and economic interests through the UNC Law Intellectual Property Clinic. Her experience as a legal extern for both UNC Athletics and Cypress Sports provided her with experience in collegiate and professional sports governance, sports management and negotiation, and sports employment and sponsorship contracts.
With an active pro bono practice, Duma’s passion for public service is unwavering. She frequently counsels aspiring nonprofit organizations from formation through application for recognition of federal tax exemption, as well as with ongoing governance and related matters. Duma was recently selected by the firm to serve as a pro bono ambassador, which includes championing and facilitating pro bono opportunities for attorneys in the firm’s Charlotte office.
Prior to attending law school, Duma was a paralegal in the legal department of a national financial services provider.
