Frederick defends clients in complex product liability actions across the U.S. With experience in the courtroom and in pre-trial litigation strategies, he brings a tenacious and thorough approach to his cases. He has successfully argued motions in court, taken stand-alone and remanded cases through discovery, and served as on-the-ground trial support for numerous trial teams throughout the U.S. Frederick works on both multidistrict litigation (MDL) matters and jury trials, with a keen eye for the strategic considerations in each type of case.

In addition to his pharmaceutical and medical device practice, Frederick is committed to pro bono work and actively represents clients in complex civil rights litigation.   • Angulo v. Shyft Group, USA, et al., Case No. 1:22-CV-22489 (S.D. Fla.) (2023) – Served as counsel for a global logistics company in product liability suit relating to a package truck fire. Obtained dismissal of client from suit at motion to dismiss stage and successfully defended decision on appeal to Eleventh Circuit.
  • Benestad, et al v. Ethicon, Inc., et al., No. 0:20-cv-60496 (S.D. Fla.) (2023) – Assisted trial counsel for Ethicon and Johnson & Johnson in a pelvic mesh case, remanded from the MDL proceedings. The plaintiff sought more than $10 million in damages. Secured a complete defense verdict.
  • Dandy v. Ethicon Women’s Health and Urology, et al., No. 3:20-CV-00431 (D. N.J.) (2023) – Assisted trial counsel for Ethicon and Johnson & Johnson in a pelvic mesh case remanded from the MDL proceedings. The plaintiff sought more than $10 million in damages. Secured a complete defense verdict.
  • Johnson v. BioSense Webster, Inc., No. 19-CV-35 (Eau Claire County, Wis. Cir.) (2023) – Assisted trial counsel for BioSense Webster, Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in a catastrophic injury case involving a patient who developed a stroke following a cardiac ablation procedure. Claims against our client resolved mid-trial.
  • Ahmed v. Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc. et al., No. 1:22-cv-190 (S.D. Ala.) (2024) – Assisted trial counsel for DePuy Orthopaedics and Johnson & Johnson in a hip implant case. Secured a complete defense verdict.
  • King v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. CV-23-00196-PHX-SMB (D. Ariz.) (2024) – Assisted trial counsel for DePuy Orthopaedics and Johnson & Johnson in hip implant case. Secured a complete defense verdict.
  • In re Pelvic Mesh/Gynecare Litigation, Case No. 291 (New Jersey Sup. Ct.) – Worked with national counsel in managing more than 20 cases through discovery in New Jersey Multi-County Litigation (MCL) relating to product liability claims for pelvic mesh products.
