Georgina Townsend

Georgina helps clients resolve commercial disputes in a variety of industry sectors. Her experience spans company and partnership disputes, insolvency and restructuring, banking and finance, asset recovery, and employment.

Georgina has experience across the Court of Appeal, High Court, and County Court (in England and Wales), assisting on matters involving breach of contract and fiduciary duties, fraud, and insolvency.

Her recent experience includes assisting in obtaining urgent cross-border injunctive relief, conducting an external workplace investigation, assisting in successful representation of an applicant in a four-day trial, and supporting asset finance clients in debt recovery proceedings.

• Obtaining urgent cross-border injunctive relief from the High Court in an aviation sector dispute, in support of arbitral proceedings.
• Conducted an external workplace investigation for a global digital infrastructure company.
• Assisted in successfully challenging an Official Receiver’s decision before the Insolvency and Companies List (High Court), with the court overturning alleged creditor claims (that had compounded to over £18 million) in an ex tempore judgment, finding that the respondents sought to lend credibility to fabricated disclosure through “solicitor-washing.”
• Representing a real estate company in concurrent employment-related proceedings.
• Representing a renewable energy client in a High Court trial.
• Representing an FCA-regulated firm in Employment Tribunal proceedings concerning whistleblowing and discrimination claims.
• Assisted with an ICC arbitration seated in London involving an energy sector contractual dispute.
