Hoa Nguyen

Hoa concentrates her practice on aviation litigation. With an emphasis on representing global aviation companies, Hoa serves as U.S. national product liability defense counsel for one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers located in Europe and its North America affiliates. She has measured experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including defending against wrongful death, personal injury, and toxic exposures in state and federal courts around the U.S.

• Member of a trial team that obtained a full defense verdict for French and U.S. aviation clients in New York state court (Manhattan) in which plaintiffs were awarded damages from other defendants of more than $113 million for a single wrongful death, a state record, as well as punitive damages.
• National defense counsel for some of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world located in France, Germany, and the U.S.
• Part of a team that obtained summary judgment dismissal from a wrongful death action in Texas state court on the eve of trial.
• Part of a team that obtained a North Carolina Court of Appeals decision reversing the trial court’s denial of a German aviation manufacturer’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.
• National defense counsel for some of the largest plastics and chemicals manufacturers in the U.S.
• Part of the court-appointed monitor team in one of the biggest export control compliance cases in U.S. history that involved the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and U.S. sanctions laws.
