Jacquelyn is an associate who represents clients in a wide range of complex business disputes, with experience spanning allegations of fraud, contract and partnership disagreements, and real estate–related litigation. She counsels companies and individuals in all phases of a dispute — from pre-suit strategy and investigation through discovery, motion practice, negotiations, and trial.
In her commercial practice, Jacquelyn has handled matters involving business fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and disputes arising out of contracts, commercial leases, purchase-and-sale agreements, and other real estate transactions. She regularly represents financial institutions and other large businesses in state and federal courts across North Carolina.
Jacquelyn also has experience representing FINRA member firms in arbitration proceedings, including disputes involving associated persons. Her work in this area includes managing written discovery, preparing witnesses for testimony, drafting dispositive and pre-hearing motions, and helping to position cases for efficient resolution.
In North Carolina state court, Jacquelyn played a key role in preparing a jury trial against a municipality that ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for the firm’s client shortly before trial. In that matter, she handled fact and expert discovery, drafted and argued pretrial motions, and worked closely with trial counsel to develop case themes, witness examinations, and demonstrative exhibits.
Committed to public service, Jacquelyn maintains an active pro bono practice. She recently assisted with a pro bono trial in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, where she helped with trial preparation, evidentiary issues, and witness examinations to advance the client’s claims.
Across her practice, Jacquelyn is known for being thorough, practical, and client-focused — seeking business-minded solutions while being fully prepared to take a case to hearing or trial when necessary.
