Tate assists case teams as well as the firm's eMerge discovery attorneys and project managers with overseeing the document review and production process. He also conducts higher-level document review and analysis.
Tate frequently serves as a review team lead, where he supervises project attorneys to ensure that substantive reviews are carried out consistently with the directives of the case team within the required timelines. Tate also performs quality control reviews of document review sets and provides feedback and additional training as needed to avoid the inadvertent production of privileged or nonresponsive documents as well as to ensure that responsive documents are properly coded and produced. Tate has managed numerous teams of attorneys in a diverse range of matters, including construction litigation, responses to government subpoenas, and general commercial litigation.
Prior to focusing on eDiscovery, Tate practiced as a consumer bankruptcy attorney and as an associate in employment and commercial litigation. He has also worked in legal publishing and as a small business owner.
