As a registered patent attorney, Jay focuses his practice on intellectual property matters including patent prosecution, strategic intellectual property counseling, portfolio management, patent procurement (including domestic and foreign rights), patent opinions (freedom to operate, nonnfringement, invalidity and patentability), due diligence, licensing, and the enforcement and defense of patent and trademark rights for a wide range of U.S. domestic and foreign companies.

Jay counsels clients in a variety of industries, covering a wide range of technologies, including mechanical and electrical devices, analog and digital electronics, data and voice communication systems, computer hardware, software, medical devices, computer vision, graphics processing, HD video, mobile device management and security, power supplies, and robotics and automation systems.

Before joining the legal profession, Jay was an engineer and gained industry experience designing analog and digital integrated circuits, developing consumer electronics, and performed experimental research in quantum optics and quantum computing.
