Overview

Kenya focuses her practice on loan servicing, regularly representing servicers of commercial mortgage-backed securities. She has experience representing servicers and special servicers in connection with reinstatements, assumptions, modifications, extensions, consents, and other servicing issues. She also has experience with cash management structuring, defaults, loan workouts, receiverships, and foreclosures.

Prior to going to law school, Kenya worked for two years as an English teacher in Malaga, Spain. She later received a master’s degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University and managed the activation of sponsorship contracts for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.

While in law school, Kenya became the first African American person to serve as the editor-in-chief of the Wake Forest Law Review.
