Madeleine is an associate in the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Practice Group. Her practice involves litigation, arbitration, and counseling on a wide range of commercial disputes, with an emphasis on complex insurance disputes. Madeleine has represented clients in insurance litigation involving policy rescission, bad faith underwriting and claims-handling practices, and general coverage.

In addition to her litigation work, Madeleine is also involved in a variety of pro bono matters including immigration, veterans’ benefits, and sentence reduction.

  • Achieved victory on behalf of an insurer in a $100 million dispute with its policyholder regarding whether the insured person was rendered unable to perform, per the terms of a total disability policy.
  • Secured the release of a client incarcerated for more than 30 years under the D.C. Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act.
  • Achieved a favorable settlement on behalf of a national insurance broker regarding various breach of contract claims.
  • Achieved victory on behalf of a retired Air Force veteran in an action seeking combat-related special compensation benefits for injuries sustained during service from the Department of Defense.
