Mia focuses her practice on business litigation matters. She represents clients in complex litigation in a variety of areas, including commercial litigation, contract disputes, legal malpractice, and higher education litigation. Mia has significant trial experience, including recently serving as third chair for a bench trial in the Court of Common Pleas in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in 2022, a jury trial in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2023, a bench trial in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania in the Commerce Division in 2024, and a bench trial in the Superior Court in Mercer County, New Jersey in 2024.

In her higher education practice, Mia provides litigation, counseling, and investigative services to colleges, universities, and other educational institutions. She also assists and advises educational institutions on matters relating to the compensation for use of student athletes’ name, image, and likeness (NIL).

Prior to joining the firm, Mia worked at a boutique law firm in Philadelphia where she developed her litigation skills in a nationally recognized insurance defense practice. After law school, Mia worked at an international Am Law 100 law firm as a corporate attorney in the firm’s global finance practice group, focusing on commercial real estate finance and investment.

She is also an active pro bono practitioner, representing clients in wrongful conviction and prisoners’ civil rights cases, among others.

  • Defended and won full defense verdict for client against employee’s claims of breach of contract and violation of the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law.
  • Represented an Am Law 200 law firm in a purported class action lawsuit and related state court actions relating to claims in connection with the sale of securities by the firm’s clients.
  • Represented an Am Law 100 law firm against former client’s legal malpractice claims.
  • Defended a client in the medical marijuana industry against fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims asserted by one of its investors.
  • Represented a national developer and manufacturer of health care diagnostic tests in a breach of contract lawsuit filed by a prospective supplier.
  • Represented educational institutions regarding alleged violations of Title IX and breach of contract, including recently winning full dismissal of claims against client institution on summary judgment.
