Michael draws on a diverse range of experiences in government and private practice to help clients navigate complex regulatory issues. He focuses primarily on heavily regulated industries, such as tobacco and cannabis.

Michael is an associate in the firm's Regulatory Investigations, Strategy + Enforcement (RISE) Practice Group. Clients rely on Michael to respond effectively to government investigations and enforcement actions, as well as to proactively ensure compliance with complex federal and state regulations. He focuses primarily on heavily regulated industries, such as tobacco and cannabis.
Michael also has an active pro bono practice. He represents asylum seekers in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, as well as assists veterans seeking upgrades to their discharge status so they may obtain veterans’ benefits.
Before joining the firm, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Krask in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. As a law clerk, he worked on a wide variety of civil and criminal cases and participated in more than 50 settlement conferences to aid individuals, businesses, and government entities in resolving their disputes.
Prior to law school, Michael worked as a bilingual paralegal at a boutique immigration law firm, helping businesses and individuals to prepare complex visa applications, respond to inquiries from federal agencies, and navigate administrative and federal court proceedings.
