Molly Anne Mugford

Molly advises corporate and individual clients on internal investigations, government investigations, and complex civil litigation. She also has experience with cross-border investigations and compliance reviews focused on whistleblower management and strengthening internal controls. Molly has helped prepare witnesses for depositions, trial testimony, and DOJ proffers and has drafted pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery across a range of litigation matters, including preparing for and attending trial in Delaware Chancery Court.

Additionally, Molly maintains an active pro bono practice. She represents clients in federal criminal matters and recently drafted and presented a successful recommendation for judicial review of a prisoner’s case to the Illinois Torture Inquiry & Relief Commission.

• Prepared multiple individuals in responding to government and internal investigations through voluntary or subpoenaed testimony.
• Advised a global manufacturer in cross-border investigations involving alleged misconduct at subsidiaries in China and Malaysia, requiring extensive forensic collections of computers and phones from employees in both countries and multiple rounds of interviews.
• Assisted in representing a health care company in consumer protection investigations by multiple state AGs.
• Advised a global public consumer goods company in parallel criminal and civil investigations brought by DOJ and federal regulatory agencies involving alleged Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act violations.
• Assisted in representing convertible noteholders in ongoing Delaware litigation involving conversion rights, including preparing for and attending trial in Delaware Chancery Court.
• Assisted global product manufacturer with removal of unauthorized Internet resellers.
• Represented local theatre company in multiple litigation matters, ultimately obtaining favorable settlement outcomes in both cases.
• Assisted in defending a global bank in ongoing civil litigation in the Southern District of New York related to distressed credit card debt.
