Olivia Mao

Olivia delivers results-driven counsel to lenders, investors, project sponsors, and developers on the financing and development of renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, and battery storage. She has a proven track record of successfully structuring and closing tax equity investments and other equity investments; executing acquisitions and divestitures of individual projects and multi-asset portfolios; and securing construction, term, and back-leverage loan facilities as well as sale-leaseback transactions. Olivia’s extensive experience spans the full project lifecycle across both domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, including general corporate work, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and capital market transactions, and securities law compliance. Her strategic guidance enables clients to maximize value, mitigate risk, and advance complex projects in the renewable energy sector.

• Represented an institutional investor in a tax equity investment for a three-project 432 Mwac solar portfolio in California, Texas, and Ohio, qualifying for IRS bonuses.
• Represented a diversified financial services company as a tax equity investor in connection with an approximately 54.9 MW wind project, located in Allegany County, Maryland.
• Represented a diversified financial services company as tax equity investor in a partnership-flip transaction for an investment of approximately $299 million in a 140 MW solar portfolio and 117 MW energy storage system located in Kern County, California with six different offtakers.
• Represented a renewable energy project developer in debt and tax equity financing for a 150 MWac utility scale battery energy storage system in Brazoria County, Texas, including negotiating and closing the offtake agreement.
