Rebecca L. Ross

Becky is a fellow of The Pepper Center for Public Service. The Pepper Center draws on the talents of the firm’s retired partners and senior attorneys to wrestle with tough problems facing our communities. Through the Center, these attorneys study, analyze, and work to resolve problems that affect the lives of people in our communities.

Before retiring from the firm in 2016, Becky served terms as managing partner of the Chicago office and as department chair for specialized litigation. She also helped launch and manage the Chicago office at her previous firm. Becky retired with more than 40 years of civil litigation experience under her belt, focusing on complex litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels. She has handled a wide variety of cases, including insurance coverage issues, commercial litigation disputes, constitutional claims, employment discrimination cases and insurance bad faith claims. Becky also provided extensive counseling to insurance companies, including advice on the drafting of policies and exclusions.

Becky achieved a large number of victories, both at the trial level and on appeal, and was ranked by Chambers USA for eight consecutive years.
