Senior Manager, Federal Affairs – Troutman Pepper Strategies
Ryan joins Troutman Pepper Strategies after serving for eight years in the U.S. House of Representatives. Most recently, he comes to us from Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-4) where he served as the congressman's top advisor on policy and strategy for two of the congressman's three Appropriations Subcommittees: Commerce, Justice, and Science, and Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies. Ryan spearheaded the congressman's rural broadband initiative, including securing grants and funding from the federal government, and was the lead author for legislation, amendments, and briefs for appropriations. His issue portfolio included telecommunications, cybersecurity, transportation, infrastructure, homeland security, energy and water, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Guard.
Prior to working for Congressman Aderholt, Ryan led cybersecurity and health care policy initiatives for Congressman Tom Graves (GA-14).
Ryan graduated from the University of Georgia, where he acted as the financial director of the Model United Nations Team, and participated in Impact UGA.
