  • Co-lead counsel in a confidential arbitration under the American Fats and Oils Association rules regarding the purchase and sale of renewable feedstock.
  • Represented an owner of an LNG facility in litigation regarding liquidated damages, contractor delays, and asserted change orders.
  • Obtained a defense verdict in a federal court jury trial in favor of AmGUARD Insurance Company against claims of breach of policy and alleged violations of the Texas Insurance Code.
  • Lead counsel defending a former executive against parallel DOJ and SEC investigations into insider trading allegations. Following preliminary discovery, the DOJ and SEC declined to prosecute or bring an enforcement action against the client.
  • Lead counsel defending a former executive against a suit by a former employer for claims including breach of non-disparagement clause, defamation, and business disparagement.
  • Lead counsel defending an individual against a suit filed in federal court by a former employer for claims including breach of a confidentiality agreement, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair trade practices, and conspiracy.
  • Second chair representing the buyer of a company in an indemnity dispute arising out of an asset purchase agreement. At the close of a three-day jury trial, the jury unanimously awarded the client 100 percent of the damages and attorneys’ fees.
  • Obtained a summary judgment in favor of the client insurer in a bad faith coverage and indemnity lawsuit in federal court.
  • Represented insurers in coverage matters involving UIM coverage, CGL coverage, and D&O coverage.
  • Defended an international cookie café franchisor in an ICC arbitration against claims from a multinational confectionary brand licensor relating to Middle East franchises. Following the final hearing, a three-member tribunal awarded the claimant no (or zero) damages or fees.
  • Represented an EPC contractor in an international arbitration dispute regarding a renovation and restoration project of an offshore production platform and a pipeline connecting to a liquefied natural gas plant in Angola.
  • Represented a construction subcontractor in a lawsuit against a general contractor and owner of a crude oil refinery in south Texas.
  • Defended a pile driving equipment supplier and its CEO in federal court against claims of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and tortious interference brought by an industry competitor seeking damages and a permanent injunction.
  • Defended an energy pipeline services company against indemnity, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty allegations brought by the former CEO.
  • Defended a private equity company and its CEO against employment agreement, fraud, and fiduciary duty allegations brought by the former CEO of a portfolio company.
