Scott is a registered patent agent and a mechanical engineer by trade with a decade of experience working in patent prosecution. His previous work as a patent examiner at the USPTO, where he focused specifically on the fields of movable and removable closures and flexible or portable closures, partitions, or panels, allows him to assist a variety of clients with their intellectual property needs, including mechanical and computer science companies. He has a high level of proficiency in developing strategies for patent prosecution, patentability, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate searches.
Scott’s experience prosecuting patents spans a wide variety of technological and engineering fields, and includes analyzing commercial products, commercial services, issued patents, and other technical subject matters. Scott also has workable knowledge of reviewing and analyzing patent file histories and patent claims in client patent portfolios to be used for patent litigation.
In addition to his work on intellectual property matters, Scott played an integral part in developing a professional/legal services subsidiary company and its small business consulting branch. Through this work, Scott provided legal and nonlegal services to law firms and small businesses, including business services coordinating, prototyping, and website design.
