Tom brings more than a decade of broad-based legal counseling experience, including work in all phases of complex multidistrict litigation, government investigations, and state and federal court proceedings, particularly those involving pharmaceutical and medical device products liability claims. He focuses one area of his practice on preparing senior company employees for depositions and proffer interviews relating to DOJ investigations into alleged antitrust violations.
Prior to his experience at the firm, Tom was the legal and economic advisor to the Japanese Ministry of Finance's Chief Representative for North America. He has utilized this experience to better represent the firm's Japan-based entities. Examples of this include oversight and management of a multifirm, transnational document production in Osaka, Japan on behalf of a major pharmaceutical client, and participation in an attorney proffer submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of a major Japanese electronics manufacturer.
Tom's pro bono activities include the representation of refugees seeking permanent residence status in the United States, and the counseling of unhoused individuals in Philadelphia area homeless shelters.
