William Mayo

William is an associate in the firm’s Corporate practice. He focuses his practice on counseling both public and private companies, including financial services providers, with respect to a variety of general corporate matters. William’s mergers and acquisitions practice includes representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as strategic purchasers and sellers, in public and private mergers and acquisitions, and in investment transactions. William also represents public and private companies in the REIT and real estate industries in their securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.

William graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School. He also received his master’s degree in finance from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management and his bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi.

• Represented a private equity fund in its platform acquisition of a therapy staffing company from its private equity owners and a number of add-on acquisitions for the platform.
• Represented a private equity firm in its acquisition of a promotional products distributor.
• Represented Renna Partners, LLC in its acquisition by a private equity-backed technology advisory services firm.
• Represented a group acquiring an existing bank via merger and through subsequent state and federal approval processes.
• Represented a financial services firm in its strategic investment advisory and banking collaboration with an independent wealth management firm.
• Represented one of the largest manufacturers of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment in multiple acquisitions of HVAC distributors and manufacturers.
• Represented a wealth management and investment advisory firm in its transaction with a private equity group focused on partnering with founder-led businesses.
