Our team draws from significant experience in the energy sector to assist a broad range of energy clients with their key transactions. We assist clients with all aspects of real estate acquisition and disposition, including financing, stock offerings, asset management, subsurface pipeline and other related easements, ground and space leases, restructuring of ownership interests, and royalty disputes. Our attorneys advise energy clients in connection with a wide range of other issues, including title insurance for surface and mineral estates, construction, negotiations with municipalities, permitting and entitlements, and significant infrastructure and land use due diligence.

Our clients include regulated public utilities, municipalities, solar project investors and owners, and foreign utility companies. We assist these clients with easements for transmission lines and related facilities, acquisitions and dispositions of power generation facilities and adjacent land, and projects such as wind and solar. Our attorneys represent large foreign and domestic oil, gas, and tank storage companies in connection with the sale and acquisition of pipeline facilities; the negotiation of pipeline easements; and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations of pipeline facilities.

In the utility-specific arena, we have broad experience representing utilities in connection with the restructuring of ground leases and subleases related to power generation and transmission facilities, and the construction of solar power facilities located on the land of unrelated third parties. Additionally, we handle various matters involving acquisitions of leasehold and easement rights for the development of solar and wind turbine facilities, main-line relocations, and air rights matters.
