Glenn Pudelka will be speaking during the IPO Annual Meeting taking place in Toronto, ON, on September 27-29, 2026. Glenn will be speaking during the session, “Termination Rights Post-Vetter: Cross-Border Implications of the Fifth Circuit’s Decision in Vetter v. Resnik,” on September 29 at 10:15 a.m. ET.
This session will examine the implications of Vetter v. Resnik, which held that where an author’s rights arise under U.S. domestic law, termination of a copyright transfer or grant terminates rights worldwide, not just in the U.S. This holding could give individual authors and heirs a significantly more powerful tool for recapitalizing on the value of overseas exploitation of their works. Speakers will discuss potential implications and considerations moving forward.
Glenn serves as vice chair of the Intellectual Property Owners Association Copyright Law and Related Rights Committee.
