Nanette Heide will be a featured speaker at the conference, participating in a panel titled “Navigating Franchise Investments: Legal Strategies for Private Equity in Franchise Transactions.” The panel will address the challenges legal advisors face due to private equity investments in franchise systems, focusing on legal considerations in franchise transactions, such as due diligence, regulatory risks, franchise agreement enforceability, and strategies for maximizing value, making it essential for attorneys advising private equity sponsors. Nanette will be joined in the discussion by Andraya Frith of Osler Hoskin & Harcourt and Marco Rizzi of Bratschi AG.

Zach Torres-Fowler will also be a featured speaker at the conference, participating in a panel titled “Decarbonisation, Climate Change Resilience, and Adaptation Goals as Drivers of Regulatory Changes for Designing, Building, and Operating Infrastructure Projects.” The session will explore how climate change and the increasing risk of natural disasters are influencing infrastructure development policies, with regulatory reforms in some jurisdictions promoting climate resilience, adaptability, and decarbonization goals, and will discuss the impact of these changes on the design, construction, and operation of infrastructure projects. Zach will be joined in the discussion by Dr. Hermann Knott, Sarah Sinclair of MinterEllison, and Piergiorgio Zettera of Studio Internazionale.
