Troutman Pepper Locke’s Brannon Millard and Steven Heitz will be speaking on two panels at ILTACON 2026. The conference will take place from Sunday, August 23 to Thursday, August 27 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Steven Heitz will be joined by Shawn McClurg, Director of Practice Solutions at Miles & Stockbridge P.C., Ashley Godevais, Head of Customer Solutions at Page Vault, Inc., and Ann Halkett, Director of SOLVED eDiscovery Services at Alexander, Holburn, Beaudin + Lang LLP, to present “Litigation Support Reimagined: Skills, Structure, and Expectations” on Monday, August 24, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The session will examine how litigation support teams are redefining their role in a rapidly evolving legal tech landscape, exploring the skills and structures required to meet rising expectations around data strategy, technology decisions, and case outcomes. It will also address how these teams can demonstrate value beyond traditional cost metrics. Attendees will come away with practical insights into building future-ready teams that operate as strategic partners within their organizations.
Brannon Millard will be joined by Jon Washburn, Chief Information Security Officer of Stoel Rives LLP, and Jason Maust, Information Governance Manager of McGuireWoods LLP, to present “Beyond the Charter: AI Governance Frameworks That Actually Work” on Wednesday, August 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The session will move past theoretical frameworks to examine what AI governance implementations are working in real law firms today, drawing on case studies of ISO 42001, NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), and EU AI Act compliance programs. It will address how to bridge the gap between executive vision and operational reality, including risk categorization approaches that avoid stalling innovation and guardrails that protect firm data. The discussion will also cover practical tactics for vetting new AI opportunities before ungoverned adoption takes hold.
