In First Chambers USA Release Since Merger, Troutman Pepper Soars in Rankings

NEW YORK – The newly-published Chambers USA 2021 Guide ranks Troutman Pepper as a leading law firm in 51 national and statewide practice areas. More than 120 attorneys were also recognized in 130 practice areas, both nationwide and in their respective states. View all firm rankings.

The firm achieved top nationwide recognition in six practice areas including Construction; Energy: Electricity (Regulatory & Litigation); Environment; Product Liability & Mass Torts: The Elite; Projects: Renewables & Alternative Energy; and State Attorneys General. Individual honorees spanned 19 U.S. cities, and 20 attorneys ranked for the first time.

Notably, of all firms recognized in Chambers USA 2021, Troutman Pepper is 28th (tied) for its total number of firm rankings (51) and 25th for its total number of individual rankings (130). The firm has numerous Band 1 rankings, including 14 practice areas and 30 attorneys ranked in the top tier.

The guide is the first USA edition to be released since Troutman Pepper’s merger last July, which brought together two firms with noted strengths in important industry sectors, including health sciences, energy, real estate, insurance, finance, private equity, construction, and technology. The combined firm offers clients greater resources and bench strength, enhanced practices, and expanded geographical reach.

Chambers’ rankings are compiled through assessment of firms’ work and opinions from external market sources, with an emphasis on client feedback. Firms and lawyers must demonstrate sustained excellence to be ranked in the guide.

The rankings come on the heels of Troutman Pepper being named among the top 50 law firms in the United States, according to the 2021 Am Law 100 report published by The American Lawyer. The firm is 49th on the annual list that ranks America’s top revenue-grossing law firms.
