Legal Aid of North Carolina Recognizes Troutman Pepper Partner Lee Cory for Pro Bono Efforts
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Lee Cory, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Real Estate Practice Group, has been recognized by Legal Aid of North Carolina for his pro bono work with the nonprofit. Cory was honored during the organization’s 20th anniversary celebration and grand opening of its new Charlotte office.
Cory represented Legal Aid of North Carolina as it navigated complex commercial real estate issues to secure the nonprofit’s new home in Mecklenburg County, including handling various regulatory compliance matters that arose. The organization now has a vital permanent presence in Charlotte that will be essential to its efforts in serving clients across the state.
Each year, Legal Aid of North Carolina helps more than 70,000 people, including victims of abuse, families on the brink of homelessness, and others in crisis, to obtain access to housing, education, healthcare, employment, safety from abuse, and other life-changing benefits.
“I am honored to be able to partner with my colleagues at Legal Aid of North Carolina to support the critical role they play in assisting the most vulnerable members of our community,” Cory said. “Legal Aid and its advocates do momentous, life-changing work, and I am proud to have had a role in ensuring that they will have a nice home in Charlotte for many years to come.”
