“I find this recent change in Louisiana interesting. I haven’t seen a lot of changes or amendments to the MGA act in any state for quite some time,” said Nicholas Scott, an MGA-focused attorney with law firm Troutman Pepper Locke.

“If you take a look at MGAs and how they behave, how they are regulated, tweaking [regulation] is not new at all,” Scott noted.
