Troutman Pepper Receives 2024 Beacon of Justice Award for Civil, Human Rights Work
WASHINGTON – Troutman Pepper has been recognized for its pro bono efforts to address issues related to civil & human rights, receiving the 2024 Beacon of Justice Award from The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA).
The award honors firms that have demonstrated an understanding of the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and other characteristics that may create interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage. Honorees have worked to address these complex challenges in their pro bono practice and will be recognized at the 2024 NLADA Exemplar Awards Gala on June 6.
Founded in 1911, NLADA is America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. NLADA has pioneered access to justice at the national, state, and local levels, playing a leadership role in the creation of public defender systems and other important institutions from The Sentencing Project to the Legal Services Corporation.
Each year, Troutman Pepper attorneys dedicate thousands of pro bono hours in support of nonprofits, immigrants, military veterans, children, the wrongfully convicted, civil rights and social justice initiatives, and so many more. Learn more at troutman.com/pro-bono.
