Troutman Pepper Shortlisted for Two Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America 2024 Awards

ATLANTA – The Financial Times (FT) has shortlisted Troutman Pepper for its 2024 Innovative Lawyers Awards North America Awards. The firm’s Client Development and Executive Leadership Program is up for an award in the Innovation in People & Skills category, and Alison Grounds, partner and managing partner of Troutman Pepper eMerge, is a finalist in the Innovative Practitioner category.

Innovation in People & Skills Finalist – Client Development and Executive Leadership Program

Troutman Pepper’s Client Development and Executive Leadership Program (CDEL) and its advanced program for CDEL alumni are transformative professional development initiatives designed to equip partners with the skills necessary to build and strengthen client relationships, grow their books of business, develop effective teams, and establish robust leadership profiles. The programs prioritize information-sharing, relationship-building, and innovation-leveraging, fostering a collaborative environment where participants can candidly discuss their strengths and weaknesses and experiment with new techniques. The program is run by senior counsel Nina Gussack and members of the firm’s Client Experience team.

Innovative Practitioner Finalist – Alison Grounds

Alison Grounds, founder and managing partner of Troutman Pepper eMerge, has been recognized for her pioneering work in leveraging evolving technologies, including AI, to provide internal and client-facing solutions and for advising clients on their own use of AI. Under her leadership, Troutman Pepper was among the first firms to test and adopt Relativity’s aiR for Review and to develop custom generative AI solutions, including tools for drafting discovery responses and Flywheel, an award-winning generative AI application within Relativity. Grounds also played a crucial role in the forming and leading the firm’s generative AI task force which promotes the responsible use and adoption of AI including Athena, one of the first generative AI assistants released by a large law firm.

The annual FT Innovative Lawyers Awards North America report is developed by FT in partnership with RSGi Consulting. Winners are selected following a nomination cycle and extensive research that includes telephone interviews, questionnaires, and reviews. Market experts are also called in to assess the submissions and research.

Winners will be announced at a Dec. 9 awards event at Gotham Hall in New York.
