California AG Leads Multistate Effort to Support CFPB’s Registry for Corporate Offenders

California Attorney General (AG) Rob Bonta, along with a coalition of AGs, has submitted a letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regarding a proposed final rule. This rule aims to establish a registry of nonbank entities that have been subject to orders related to consumer protection law violations.

AG of the Week
Gentner Drummond, Oklahoma
Gentner Drummond was sworn in as Oklahoma’s 19th attorney general on January 9, 2023. His legal career spans nearly 30 years, including roles as an assistant district attorney in Pawnee and Osage Counties, and as an attorney in private practice. In 1999, he founded the Tulsa-based firm, Drummond Law. Additionally, Drummond, a seventh-generation Oklahoman, has experience as a rancher, banker, and businessman.
A U.S. Air Force jet pilot during the Persian Gulf War, Drummond led the first combat mission of the conflict and earned several commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, and four Aerial Achievement medals.
In his first year as attorney general, Drummond established the office’s first Organized Crime Task Force to address issues such as human trafficking and illegal opioid distribution. His other priorities include improving tribal relations, ensuring government transparency, combating corruption, and protecting Oklahoma from federal overreach.
Oklahoma AG in the News
- In July, the Oklahoma AG office is offering a free Employment Law Symposium on emerging issues, in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
- On May 29, Drummond warned consumers about a new overdue toll charge scam being emitted through text messages in Oklahoma.
