Two Troutman Pepper Partners Recognized by Philadelphia Business Journal as ‘Best of the Bar’ in Corporate/M&A Matters

PHILADELPHIA – Partners John Jones and Deborah Spranger have been named to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2021 Best of the Bar Awards list in the Corporate/M&A category. Now in its fifth year, the annual awards recognize attorneys who have had standout years.

An outside panel of judges selected Jones and Spranger for inclusion in the list of only 35 local lawyers who distinguished themselves in their practice areas. Candidates were evaluated based on the business/legal significance of their matters, the size of the result, and the business impact of their work.

Jones, chair of the nationally recognized Health Care Transactions and Regulatory practices of Troutman Pepper, received the Best of the Bar award for his prowess in transformative health care services transactions. Clients frequently turn to John for help navigating their most important deals and complex issues. He regularly advises financial sponsors and strategics in the health care services and IT space on a wide range of M&A, regulatory and compliance, governance and shareholder matters.

Spranger also was recognized for her work on transformative transactions. She primarily advises clients in the manufacturing, life sciences and technology industries with mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions and intellectual property licensing, as well as in corporate governance and general business counseling. In the last year, she has closed M&A transactions with a total transaction in excess of $3 billion across a multitude of industries and jurisdictions.

Jones and Spranger will be recognized in a special publication on Oct. 29 and honored in the awards event scheduled for Oct. 28 at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.
