Our Portland office was launched with a strong focus on utilities, independent power producers and other participants in the energy industry of the Pacific Northwest. Since then, our footprint has expanded globally; today, we counsel national and international clients on a broad range of legal, regulatory and business concerns. In addition to our work on conventional power projects and renewable energy integration, we work closely with attorneys in the firm’s New York, Washington, D.C., Orange County and other offices on utility tax and related energy issues. We also advise clients on cross-border securities and investment matters between the United States and Canada, corporate transactions, real estate acquisitions and development, tax reporting, and tax controversies, and labor and employment litigation (including nationwide class action litigation) and other disputes. Our clients include leading companies in the energy, technology, retail and other sectors that drive today’s burgeoning economy.
Located in one of the fastest growing regions in the United States, our office reflects the diversity that is one of the Northwest’s greatest strengths. One of our partners is the recipient of the 2018 “Civil Rights Champion Award” presented by the League of Minority Voters and was named 2017 “Latino Attorney of the Year” by the Hispanic National Bar Association. We sponsor a number of civic, arts and educational organizations, and we provide strong support for charities and groups focused on the care and education of children and the elderly.
