Cole is a member of the firm’s Regulatory Investigations, Strategy and Enforcement (RISE) group. He has a decade of experience working in the attorney general community, having joined the firm from the Wyoming Office of the Attorney General, where he was assistant attorney general.

While working for the Wyoming Attorney General’s Civil Division, Cole reviewed and negotiated contract terms and conditions on behalf of state agencies, analyzed legislative bills, and served as advising attorney to the state ombudsman. His experience includes liaising between attorneys general offices and diverse stakeholders, including state, local, and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies, private sector, advocacy groups, and think-tanks to study cutting-edge issues in cannabis law and policy.

Cole began his career with the Conference of Western Attorneys General event services, coordinating and facilitating panel discussions for attorney generals and their staff. Following this, while attending law school, he spent two years with the Attorney General Alliance Cannabis Project, where he researched and wrote on a variety of topics in the cannabis space, as well as other issues important to attorney generals.
