Craig focuses his practice on representing financial institutions in connection with loans and other financing transactions, and also represents borrowers in financing transactions. He has extensive experience in construction financing and other real estate financing, asset-based financing, liquidity support for and direct purchases of tax-exempt bonds.

Craig regularly represents credit providers to a wide range of companies and other parties, including owners and operators of health care facilities, continuing care retirement communities, higher educational institutions, cities, counties and other governmental entities, charitable organizations, owners of multifamily housing properties, and developers and owners of commercial real estate.

Craig’s experience has given him technical and practical understanding and knowledge regarding structuring, documenting, and closing complex financing transactions. Examples include:

  • Administrative agent’s counsel in connection with loans to recapitalize a multistate portfolio of retirement communities.
  • Administrative agent’s counsel in connection with a syndicated loan to finance the acquisition of a multistate portfolio of skilled nursing facilities.
  • Lender’s counsel in connection with a credit facility including loans to finance the acquisition and recapitalization of a multistate portfolio of long-term acute care hospitals.
  • Representing a private university in connection with the issuance of tax-exempt bonds to finance the university’s construction of new facilities, acquisition of real property, and the refunding of previously issued bonds.
  • Representing a bank in connection with its purchase of a tax-exempt bond to finance new capital projects of a nonprofit continuing care retirement community and the refinancing of debt previously incurred by the community.
  • Representing a bank in connection with its issuance of a direct-pay letter of credit to support tax-exempt variable rate bonds being issued for a nonprofit hospital system to finance capital projects and refund previously issued bonds.
